Dr. Schofield is from in the Oklahoma City area where she was a veterinary technician for over 10 years. In this time she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma. Her undergraduate work focused heavily on research. This focus continued throughout veterinary school at Oklahoma State University where she was granted a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association to step away from the veterinary program and study a signaling pathway during Influenza viral infection and its association with heart disease. Returning to veterinary school she was awarded a full clinical year scholarship and graduate in 2016 focused on practicing small animal emergency and critical care. She practiced emergency medicine in her first year out of veterinary school before joining Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists. She describes OVS as her dream job, saying, “ I feel honored to be surrounded by such excellent veterinarians and staff who are practicing such high-quality medicine. “ She hopes to soon integrate research into her clinical practice.
When she is not at OVS she can be found on a hiking trail with her husband and boxer dog, Molly. Besides reality shows on Bravo TV, she most enjoys trail running and thinks her training will really take off as soon as she finds a point of moderation with burritos and peanut butter.
