He is a graduate of the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine where he received the Dean Clarence H. McElroy Award – the highest honor awarded to a veterinary student. After his time at OSU, Dr. Duell completed a one year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Texas A&M University. He returned to Oklahoma State University for a 3 year surgery residency where he received extensive training in orthopedic, soft tissue, cardiothoracic, oncologic and neurosurgery. His research on the differences in small intestinal anastomosis techniques was published in Veterinary Surgery journal in 2016. Dr. Duell’s wife, Dana, is a dental hygienist and they have 2 dogs, Chandler and Charlie. When Dr. Duell is not tending to the surgical needs of your pet, he enjoys serving in his church, renovating his “new” 1936 model home with his wife and spending time outdoors.
