Please join us in extending the warmest of welcomes to Tulsa’s first full time Veterinary Ophthalmologist, Dr. Jonathan Pucket!
Dr. Pucket comes to OVS after working at Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences since 2012. After graduating from OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine and completing his internship there, Dr. Pucket headed to Manhattan, KS to finish his 3 year residency in Veterinary Ophthalmology at Kansas State University.
Dr. Pucket has a particular interest in Ophthalmic surgery, and enjoys procedures involving reconstruction of eyelid deformities, cataract removal, laser glaucoma surgery, and surgeries to treat chronic dry eye in dogs. Veterinary Ophthalmologists also specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in the eye, immune-mediated diseases of the eye, and trauma to the eye and surrounding tissues.
When pets are diagnosed with eye problems, early consultation with a Veterinary Ophthalmologist and appropriate intervention can often save a pet’s eye and preserve their vision. Appropriate surgery and other treatments can also remove chronic sources of pain or discomfort for pets.
Dr. Pucket receives Ophthalmology patients Monday through Thursday. The addition of Dr. Pucket brings the number of specialty departments at OVS to 3 on top of our 24 hour Emergency and Critical Care service. As a team, we are thrilled to offer a level of specialty veterinary care that’s previously unprecedented in Northeastern Oklahoma.
