Dr. Duell is a graduate of the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine where he received the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Surgical Proficiency Award and the Dean Clarence H. McElroy Award – the highest honor awarded to a veterinary student.
After his time at OSU, Dr. Duell completed a one-year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Texas A&M University. He returned to Oklahoma State University for a three-year surgery residency where he received extensive training in orthopedic, soft tissue, cardiothoracic, oncologic and neurosurgery. His research on the differences in small intestinal anastomosis techniques was published in Veterinary Surgery journal in 2016.
Dr. Duell’s wife, Dana, is a dental hygienist, worship minister and homeschool teacher. They have one terrier named Charlee and a cat named Wendell. When Dr. Duell is not tending to the surgical needs of your pet, he enjoys serving Christ through his church and completing native ecosystem restoration projects on family farms.
